What an incredible couple of weeks honoring our healthcare heroes! đ To celebrate Healthcare Appreciation Week, we hosted 10 Employee Picnics across all Blessing Health System entities, serving over 3,000 meals to staff at every facility and on every shift! đ˝ď¸ We also celebrated 550 staff members reaching milestone work anniversaries (5 to 50 years of service!) with four special Service Award Breakfast Receptions. A massive THANK YOU to our Food & Nutrition team for their hard work catering these events, and to our leaders for showing their support. We are so grateful for our dedicated team! â¨

A Family That Showed Up When It Mattered Most When COVID changed the world, it also changed the way we worked, cared and leaned on each other. For Amanda, a nurse on the front lines, those long days and uncertain nights were spent caring for patients who were scared, isolated and fighting for their lives. But she wasn't facing the challenge alone. Working beside her was someone she had looked up to her entire life - her mom, a CNA. Together they comforted patients, held hands when families couldn't be there and reminded people that even in the hardest moments, compassion still lived inside hospital walls. Behind the scenes, the rest of the family stepped up, too. Amanda's husband, Nathan, a construction manager, worked tirelessly to help build the physical barriers that protected patients and staff. When the hospital needed new walls and separated isolation areas quickly, he and his team made it happen, transforming spaces almost overnight so caregivers could continue doing their work safely. And making sure those spaces truly protected everyone was Amanda's dad, a system control specialist. He helped ensure the hospital's negative air pressure systems were working efficiently, quietly playing a critical role in keeping staff, patients and families safe. Four different roles. One shared mission. Together, this family helped protect our community.

Blessing Health System names next CEO. The Blessing Corporate Services Board of Trustees has selected Mike Trachta as the systemâs next president and chief executive officer, effective on May 1, 2026. Trachta has 27 years of healthcare leadership experience, in rural hospitals, urban hospitals, and most recently in a large integrated health system as Vice President of community hospitals and health system operations with MercyOne, based in Des Moines, Iowa. Blessingâs board engaged Furst Group, a national healthcare executive search firm with 40 yearsâ experience for the CEO search. The selection process involved gathering feedback from members of the Blessing boards, employee leadership and medical staff. âMike matches the qualities the Board outlined when this search began last September,â said Gary Gillespie, chairman, Board of Trustees, Blessing Corporate Services. âHe is a mission-driven, community-focused leader with a track record in community health, care quality and access, employee engagement, and organizational success and growth.â âI am honored to join the Blessing Health System team,â Trachta said upon accepting the position. âBlessing has an impressive reputation as a strong independent health system and I look forward to working with clinical, business, and community leaders to build on the success of this valuable regional asset.â
