Happy Pride Month from all of us at Bread Financial! Love always belongs. In observance of Pride Month, our associates have been able to walk in both the annual Stonewall Columbus Pride March and Kansas City Pride Parade, and later this month have an opportunity to join a virtual internal event, Everyday Allyship, to learn more about what allyship means in the workplace. We hope you take time to show support for those who identify as LGBTQ+ in your local community.
Every May, Bread Financial celebrates Asian Heritage Month, a time to celebrate and recognize Asian and Pacific Islander culture and traditions and amplify social and professional networking opportunities for Asian and Pacific Islander associates across our business. Associates have been able to take virtual tours of iconic Asian monuments, join a Tai Chi class and have also been invited to visit the Bread Financial booth at the Columbus Asian Festival this weekend, May 25-26. While May will soon come to a close, our Asian Alliance Business Resource Group (BRG) continues work to promote Asian cultures and traditions, as well as provide social and professional opportunities for Asian associates at Bread Financial.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to fight stigma and increase awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness. Bread Financial is committed to supporting associates’ total well-being through programs like Spring Health and Included Health. Spring Health is a confidential mental wellness benefit for associates and their covered dependents that includes access to therapy (eight free therapy sessions), wellness exercises and work-life resources, while Included Health is a virtual mental health service available at a substantially discounted rate to associates enrolled in Bread Financial medical plans. Our associates have opportunities this month to relax, rest and reenergize by joining special restorative yoga classes and experience Mindful Moments with a member of our LivingWell team both in-person or virtually.
Be real. Be courageous. Be nimble. Be kind and pay it forward. More than surface-level buzzwords, these company values are foundational to our award-winning culture and serve as a guiding light for purpose-driven and responsible business operations. At Bread Financial, we are committed to giving back, paying forward and building stronger, more vibrant communities. From Columbus to Coeur d'Alene, U.S.-based associates logged nearly 600 volunteer hours and donated to 26 charities across 14 states as part of Pay It Forward Week April 8-12. While Pay It Forward Week has come to a close, associates are also able to take advantage of the Dollars for Doers program throughout the year to earn money for a charity they are passionate about. When associates volunteer outside of company volunteer time, they can earn a $25 “charitable gift card” to donate to the charity of the associate’s choice (up to $1,000 annually). Bread Financial was recently named to Newsweek’s list of Most Trustworthy Companies in America 2024 for our high evaluations in trust with customers, investors, and employees. This marked the second-straight year that we were named to the list, ranking 10th in the financial services category – up 10 spots from 2023! Newsweek partnered with Statista to create the list that ranked 700 U.S. companies based on trustworthiness. Public and private companies across 23 industries – including banking, insurance, media, and clothing – were included based on an independent survey of approximately 25,000 Americans that took place in October and November of last year. Driving value for our customers is at the heart of what we do, and we are energized for what’s to come this year!
We’re committed to ensuring our associates have opportunities to thrive. Manoj Kumar M N recently took advantage of one such opportunity – the Bread Financial Apprentice Program – which offers associates the opportunity to develop in corporate roles with the goal of permanent job placement. After completing the nine-month apprentice program, Manoj was offered a data science analyst position in Bangalore where he now works to predict customer behavior and provide critical consumer insights. “My favorite experience from the program wasn’t just gaining hands-on experience with machine learning algorithms or coding,” he said. “It was the mentorship, teamwork and resilience. I joined the program with a thirst for knowledge and a passion for data science, and I got a chance to work with and learn from some incredibly talented and experienced people.” Learn more about Manoj's career journey and the Bread Financial Apprentice Program by reading the article below! ⬇️
