Chi Chi Chatterjee started as a contractor at C Spire in 2006, and while he briefly left for four months, he returned to the company in part because of the culture. Chatterjee now leads the customer experience applications team. “I remember it was October 1 because the State Fair was on. I was driving past, and every time the State Fair comes, I know that another year has passed in Mississippi,” said Chatterjee. Chatterjee has worked for some of the biggest names in the telecommunications and technology sector, but shares he never felt empowered there. “Whatever anyone does at C Spire makes a major contribution here,” said Chatterjee. “We work very hard; we achieve a lot, and we make a difference. At C Spire, you are not a small cog in the wheel.” Chi Chi’s management style is to hire the best and the brightest. He ensures their success by making sure there is nothing blocking them from doing their work and thriving. “I’m proud of my guys,” said Chatterjee. “Success flows downwards. If something is right, it’s been done by the team, and if something is wrong, it stops with me.” His advice for those interested in joining C Spire, “If you are looking for a team culture and a sense of achievement at the end of the day, this is the place for you. Many of my colleagues that I started my journey with are still with C Spire today.” Chatterjee praises C Spire’s team culture and shares it is where you can find people who are like you.
As a senior in high school in 2020, Loveleen Kaur had big plans for her future, but COVID came in and wrecked everything. No one knew what was going to happen next and suddenly, the future became a giant question mark. “Everything just stopped, and no one knew when we would go back or if we would be here forever. It was pretty scary.” How do you face adversity like that? For Loveleen, the answer is to keep going. A friend recommended Base Camp Coding Academy, C Spire’s partner in raising the profile of coding in Mississippi. While at Base Camp Coding Academy, Loveleen earned an internship at C Spire, working with the web development team. C Spire is a community full of ‘helpers,’ and her new team was no different. Everyone looks for ways to turn around and help the people around them. And when you’re a 19-year-old at her first job, having that type of support system in place made an impact. What do you do as a coding intern when you’re faced with a coding error? Keep going. From working on small ticket items to bigger projects, Loveleen keeps going and growing. Finding a compan
SVP & Chief Information Security Officer Conrad Bell, Jr., CISSP, CISM, lives by the motto, “loose ball, my ball” regarding his work ethic and keeping the customer first. “You have to get the ball,” said Conrad. “It doesn't matter if you dropped the ball or if someone else dropped it. As a leader, it’s your responsibility to not only get the ball but get it to where it needs to be. The customer is depending on you.” At C Spire, Conrad leads the cybersecurity team and relies on the expertise and the strength that each of his managers brings to the table to ensure all fronts of cybersecurity at C Spire are covered. “We are not only charged with protecting our customers' data, but ensuring any platforms or software used internally are safe and don’t pose a threat to our systems. It’s imperative my team fully understands C Spire’s vision, evolving business objectives, and the different types of technology available. This helps us pinpoint any anomalies and things that stand out in our day-to-day work.” He is a proponent of continuous improvement and professional development for him an
