From leading sailors as a Navy surface warfare officer to keeping CSX locomotives in service, Ryan Warner, Manager of Procurement supporting our Mechanical Department, proves that military engineering and leadership translate powerfully to the railroad. Drawing on 13 years of active-duty service and his U.S. Naval Academy training, Ryan helps ensure the right parts, services, and agreements are in place to keep freight moving across our network. "In the military, you learn that success depends on every person doing their part toward a shared mission," Ryan says. "I found that same sense of purpose at CSX." This #HireAVeteranDay, we proudly recognize veterans like Ryan whose service and leadership are helping us build the best-run railroad in North America.

This Hire a Veteran Day, CSX proudly recognizes Orenthal “AD” Adderson, Senior Facilities Manager, whose 23 years in the Navy—spanning logistics, engineering, and warship inspection—shaped the discipline he now brings to CSX every day. AD leads with a safety-first focus across six facilities in Jacksonville, FL, helping keep our workplace safe and functional to ensure the best possible experience for our railroaders. "Leadership is about showing up, setting the tone, and holding each other accountable," AD says. "When we do that together, we move the railroad forward." #HireAVeteranDay

Our CSX 2026 #interns visited Rice Yard in Waycross, Georgia, to experience rail operations firsthand. They learned how railcars are sorted, routed, and prepared for customers across our 20,000-route-mile network. A huge thank you to the #Waycross team for sharing their expertise and coordination that drives #CSX service every day. Experiences like this are what bridge the gap between strategy and real-world #FreightRail operations, shaping the next generation of freight industry leaders.

CSX has officially opened our Hazardous Materials Training Institute at Florida State College at Jacksonville's Fire Academy of the South — a state-of-the-art facility built to prepare emergency responders, railroad personnel, and public safety partners for real-world rail emergencies. Developed through a long-term partnership with FSCJ, the institute features 1,200 feet of track, real freight and tank cars, and scenario-based training environments designed to build speed and confidence when it matters most. CSX President and CEO Steve Angel and FSCJ President and CEO John Avendano recently spoke to the inaugural class and toured the facility alongside other senior leaders, reinforcing the shared commitment to safety and partnership. This is safety leadership in action — and we're proud to raise the standard.
