The UK’s largest wholly British owned and run care at home franchisor, Caremark are delighted to be attending the National Franchise Exhibition on 1st & 2nd October, at Birmingham’s NEC. With over 110 offices across the UK already established, the Caremark franchise team will be in hall 6, on stand H100 on both Friday and Saturday with information about their once in a lifetime opportunity.
Caremark CEO, Kevin Lewis, sadly passed away on Friday 17th September 2021. A huge loss to his family, friends, colleagues and the social care sector as a whole. Anyone that knew Kevin, knew he was a man with exceptional business savvy, but at the heart of everything he did, was his passion to provide the highest quality of care, to as many people as possible. Father of four, Kevin was a truly caring man, who always put people first in whatever he did. A razor-sharp wit & a sparkling personality always made him good company and a highly engaging person to be with. He was one of the most experienced in-home care franchise experts in the UK. The success of the Caremark business drew extensively upon the care industry knowledge he gained over more than 30 years. Kevin will be missed by everyone who met him and even those that didn’t due to his ground-breaking innovations that benefit the in-home care sector to this day. His mark & his legacy will live on through these innovations and the care that his vision provides the nation through his franchised network of home care providers.
We are delighted that these regional winners will be going on to the National Awards in September. Maria from Caremark (Worcester & Malvern Hills) won the ‘Care Coordinator’ Award for the West Midlands. Sally from Caremark (Mid Sussex & Crawley) won the Southeast regional award for ‘Home Care Worker of the Month. Simon Rowland from Caremark (Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge & Malling) won the southeast regional award for ‘Best Home Care Registered Manager.’ Congratulations to our winners!
Each year Caremark (Redcar & Cleveland) hosts an awards ceremony for their staff, where clients nominate their carers. This year saw 161 nominations, with three winners chosen from each of the main areas they cover. There was also an award for employee of the year. Pam Rangjob, Donna Robertson & Beverley Dodds each won 'carer of the year' for their area. Yvonne Jones, care coordinator, won 'employee of the year', judged by the management team. Congratulations & Thank You for everything you do.
Changing Career Path: After working as a chartered accountant, Diane Kubler (Caremark Kirklees) decided at 67 the time was right for a completely new career. “I thought Care would suit me because I can talk for England and being able to communicate with people is half the battle." “When I went for the interview and they offered me a place I nearly fell through the floor. I said to them did they not want someone with care experience? They said my life experience was just as important.”

Keeping Safe In Uncertain Times - A poem by Paula Miller (Care Support Worker - Redcar & Cleveland) We wear our PPE to go to work, to keep all around us safe We scrub and clean and wash our hands until they bleed and chafe. Its safety first for all of us, our rules are set in place We do weekly Covid tests and then there’s track and trace. The infection control is second to none and the same as Doctors and Nurses We wouldn’t put our customers at risk, no way not ever, it’s said with hidden curses. To break the rules of which are governed it is not big or clever We would not risk this deadly virus, not now and not ever. We work hard as hell with all this going on, but yet our wages are light as a feather We work in rain and hail and snowing a gale and sometimes sunny weather. We risk ourselves and our families too so that people have their care So be nice to us like we are to you, it’s only right and fair.

Caremark (Havering) has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission. Congratulations to the business owners Jag and Bal Bains for this rating that less than 4% of the adult care providers in England currently have.
Paula from Caremark Cheltenham & Tewkesbury is yet another example of career progression, and a policy of promoting from within where possible, across the National Network of offices at Caremark. Paula previously worked for 15 years in the hotel industry and 8 years within travel agency and following 2 life-changing events, Paula wanted to do something different and applied for a job with Caremark. Starting as a Care & Support Worker and then moving up the ladder to become the Care Manager.
