Passover is a time of celebration for the Jewish community. To prepare for Passover, many Jews rid their homes of chametz and thoroughly clean their kitchens to remove all traces of chametz. This process is called kashering. Cedars-Sinai has a kosher kitchen to prepare food for patients who keep kosher, and it too is prepared for Passover. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQVHI
“When people see something in you and empower you to grow and move ahead, you can accomplish anything.” It is very rewarding to make rounds in clinical areas, where I speak with patients to get their feedback and suggestions. I usually do this in my official role, but I also interact with patients on weekends when I volunteer with my labradoodle Cooper in the Barbara Cowen POOCH Volunteer Program. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQVlz
My day begins around 5:30 am. It’s quiet. I can think, plan, and get a lot done. At 6:30 am, I meet with the medical center’s administrator on duty to receive a patient-status report and be informed of any unusual events. I spend about 1-2 hours making rounds to see patients. That’s the best part. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQVCJ
Meet Joanne Ordono, child life specialist at Cedars-Sinai for 17 years. "We help kids understand the whos, whats, and whys about the hospital and their treatment journey. We help them cope with everything from pain management to anxiety—things that come with being hospitalized." http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQwdt

“Our long-term goal is to enable the development of new treatments that combat the devastating effects of memory disorders like Alzheimer’s disease.” http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQjto
Dr. Ivor Geft ducked into patient rooms with a stethoscope dangling around his neck when he was a resident at Cedars-Sinai in 1980. Now his son Dr. Dael Geft walks those same halls to see patients, only he carries an ultrasound machine in his pocket. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQj5M
Did you know that Cedars-Sinai has more than 900 active research projects and 500 clinical trials? We are leading the way by translating new discoveries into therapies that can treat our community.
Did you know that Cedars-Sinai has more than 14,000 employees and 2600 volunteers working to improve the health of our community?
Doctors at the Smidt Heart Institute are pursuing the most advanced cardiac research, such as using stem cells to regrow heart tissue after a heart attack, while treating patients with some of the world’s leading techniques, such as using 3-D printing to help physicians perform minimally invasive heart valve repair and replacement for children with congenital heart defects. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in LA County, across the US, and globally. More than 92 million Americans live with cardiovascular diseases—including heart attack, stroke, and high blood pressure—and about 2,200 die each day from these conditions. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQ7za
