Did you know that CMCA supports the whole family? Instead of working with individuals in isolation, we support entire families across three critical areas - social connections, family wellbeing, and economic stability - through our comprehensive programs and services. Last fiscal year, we served over 6,000 households across mid-Missouri!

CMCA is continuing to serve our members, no matter what's happening in Washington. It's been a busy month! CMCA officially started our new fiscal year on October 1, even as the government began its ongoing shutdown. We've been fielding many phone calls from the media, staff, and donors, wondering how we are affected. The good news is that CMCA programs are able to continue operating! Due to our grant cycles and financial standing, we can withstand this shutdown for some time. If anything changes, we will let you know. Our main focus is to continue providing the service our members need, regardless of the noise in Washington.

CMCA's Providence Landing housing development is taking shape. If you've driven down Providence Rd. in Columbia lately, you've probably seen that our Providence Landing development is taking shape! Once finished, these 14 units will be sold at an affordable rate with down payment assistance to families with qualifying incomes. Earlier this year, we broke ground on our Stronghold Landing apartment complex in Jefferson City. This complex will feature 40 units of varying sizes, a community room that doubles as a storm shelter, a playground, and a dog park. We are also seeking funding for developments in Fulton and Mexico. The lack of affordable housing options remains a problem throughout our service area, and we are committed to helping find solutions.

At CMCA, our goal is that all people in our service area have safe, affordable, and sustainable housing. One way we are working to make this vision a reality is by developing quality housing that strengthens communities. From our homes on Hickman Ave that were sold at an affordable cost with our down payment assistance program to our works in progress, Providence Landing and Stronghold Landing, we are working to make homeownership and affordable rentals a reality for more families throughout mid-Missouri. The need is great, and we'll continue to explore housing development opportunities throughout our service area.
