Yesterday marked a major milestone in advancing behavioral health care in central Illinois — the groundbreaking ceremony for Meadowview Behavioral Hospital! This new facility is a joint venture between US Health Vest and OSF HealthCare, bringing together two organizations committed to expanding access to critically needed mental health and substance use treatment services in our region. Located in Peoria, the heart of central Illinois, Meadowview Behavioral Hospital will offer a full continuum of specialized inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services — ensuring that every patient receives compassionate care, regardless of their ability to pay. We’re especially excited about what this means for rural communities, where access to behavioral health care has been too limited for too long. Yesterday’s event was more than a groundbreaking — it was a celebration of collaboration, progress, and hope. Thank you to everyone who joined us as we take this important step toward a healthier future for Illinois.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to recognize the strength of those impacted by this disease and raise awareness about the importance of early detection. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, but with regular screenings, self-exams, and early intervention, survival rates are improving. This month, we honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and support ongoing research for a cure. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
🌍 World Polio Day | October 24th Today, we join the global community in recognizing World Polio Day. While polio has been largely eradicated in many parts of the world, its impact on mental health is often overlooked. Survivors and their families face ongoing physical and emotional challenges that require compassionate care. At Chicago Behavioral Hospital, we understand that physical health and mental health are deeply connected. Our dedicated team provides mental health support for individuals coping with the long-term effects of mental illness. Let’s continue to raise awareness, support survivors, and work toward a world where everyone has access to the care they need—both physically and mentally.
