Today Christie’s announced our 2017 results; Sales Totaled £5.1 Billion ($6.6 Billion)- a YOY increase of increase 26%. We sold 7 of the 10 lots globally, including the world record for any work of art sold at auction - Leonardo da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi and the Top Collection - Fujita. Digital Sales now total £165.6 million, and 31% of All Buyers Were New To Christie’s.

Christie’s recently hosted two careers events at Durham University. Speaking in the historic Senate Room in Castle, Olivia Wallace and Jennifer Sutton spoke to students about entry level opportunities and possible career paths in a global art business. Dom Thurlow-Wood then addressed students from the Modern Languages & Cultures school about how his time at Durham helped to prepare him for his role at Christie’s. It was amazing to meet so many people during these two sessions – thanks to everyone who came along.

Olivia Wallace and Alastair Plumb, both St Andrews Alumni, spoke about life working at an international Auction House and entry level opportunities including our new Graduate Training Programme, Internships and Work Experience. It was great to see so many people there and be able to answer lots of questions about working with Christie’s.
