We're closing out National Mentoring Month by recognizing the role mentorship can play in career shifts at Citizens. Kelsi, a Human Resources Associate, shares what it meant to have a mentor: "A mentor changed everything for me. I reached the point in my career where I was starting to feel ‘the itch’ to change. I'm not an extrovert, which meant discovering new people and networking can be challenging. But our Citizens Talent Matters tool made it easy to pair with a mentor, who ended up being someone in my department, but with whom I had never worked with before. I'm so glad I took this step. My mentor helped me explore entirely new perspectives and ways of thinking. I was questioning everything - in a good way - and felt myself embracing a lot more ‘outside-the-box’ thinking. It was so refreshing (and a confidence boost!) to get feedback in real time as I made progress exploring what's next in my career. I not only found clarity in where I wanted to go next and what I wanted out of a role, but also what skills I should continue to develop to stay relevant in a changing landscape." See how we're helping our colleagues grow in any direction their talents and curiosity take them all year long!
