Real Hope for Putnam and Beyond! Nonprofit behavioral healthcare provider Community Health Resources (CHR) recently celebrated the completion of several renovations to its Putnam campus that will expand access to life-saving services and enhance safety features. The projects include: • A complete renovation and 20% increase in the footprint of CHR’s outpatient Pathways program that provides Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) along with comprehensive care and support services for men and women. • A complete renovation to the Dining Hall that supports two intensive, residential substance use treatment programs for women in Putnam, including a novel program for women who are pregnant or have young children. • Campus-wide safety enhancements including a water main expansion, an expanded sprinkler system and fire protection connections, activation, and testing. “I’m grateful to everyone who helped make these improvements a reality and proud of all the healthcare heroes who work in CHR’s Putnam programs 24/7 to provide hope and effective treatments to hundreds of people every year,” said Heather Gates, CHR’s President and CEO. “I also applaud all of the individuals who come here for treatment and courageously take the first steps toward health and recovery,” she added. “CHR is here as a resource for Putnam and the entire community.” Funding for the upgrades and improvements came from the state Office of Policy and Management (OPM), the state Department of Mental Health

CHR SECURES 3 PRESTIGIOUS FEDERAL GRANTS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF CHILDREN, FAMILIES AND ADULTS IN THE AFTERMATH OF THE PANDEMIC CHR is the only Nonprofit in CT to Secure 2 CCBHC Grants Community Health Resources (CHR), the state’s most comprehensive nonprofit behavioral healthcare agency, was recently awarded three prestigious federal grants to meet the needs of children, families and adults in the aftermath of the pandemic. CHR competed nationally for all three grants, each of which is administered by the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). “This vital funding will sustain recovery-focused programs in the northcentral part of the state, launch new services for people of all ages in northeastern Connecticut, and bring trauma-focused care to youth in more than half of the state,” said Heather Gates, President and CEO of CHR. “We are very proud to be offering these important services, especially now.” CHR is the only agency in CT to receive two Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) grants in the recent round of SAMHSA funding.

That speaks volumes about our staff.” Awards were announced during the recent Top Workplaces Reception, hosted by the Hartford Courant.
