This modern, next generation cloud platform is now available at all hospitals served by Crothall HTS.

Regulations were necessary to limit the transmission of the novel coronavirus in hospitals, but they have also made it difficult for nonclinical support staff, such as environmental services (EVS) and food and nutrition services (FANS) staff, to perform their duties at the bedside. Compass One Healthcare, a nonclinical support services provider to more than 2,300 hospitals and a strategic Press Ganey partner, knows this well and has been challenged to maintain optimal patient experience in the FANS and EVS spheres this past year.

When a national healthcare accreditation organization conducted its annual review at Inspira Health in late November, it determined that Crothall Healthcare’s associate training program was “outstanding” and “one of the best in the nation.” The official from DNV GL Healthcare, the accreditation organization, also recommended that other hospital departments in the hospital emulate this training program.

Congrats to our environmental services team at Heritage Valley Sewickley, who recently celebrated a huge achievement: being injury-free for 3 years! The team celebrated with a luncheon where associates each received a prize and spent some quality time together. . “Keeping this streak alive means so much to us. The staff really enjoyed themselves and already is asking me how I'm going to top this party when we reach our 4-year anniversary," said Merle Ealy, EVS Director.

While community members have praised local healthcare workers as heroes since the pandemic began, not everyone on the frontline are nurses or doctors. A cornerstone of Iredell Health System, the Environmental Services team cleans and sanitizes an average of 45 discharge and transferred patient rooms each day, covering every bed, wall, table, floor, phone, bathroom, toilet, corner, and high-touch surface in each of the health system’s 289,000 cleanable square feet.
