As sweet as apple pie. 🥧🍎🥰 For the past two decades, Verga and her husband Clezell went to an apple orchard each autumn. We brought it to her since Verga doesn't have the strength or energy to go this year. She especially perked up when she heard there was apple pie! Our team joined in a time of music and reminiscing while enjoying apple pie and cider. Clezell expressed his appreciation for this Mosaic Moment and our Ecumen Hospice team supporting him and his wife. Join our team and help make a difference every day!
Becca is an Assistant Executive Director serving at Ecumen's Abiitan Mill City in Minneapolis. Listen in as she shares about her career journey at Ecumen, the mentors who have helped her grow, and how residents are always at the heart of everything we do.
Mike, an Ecumen Lakeview Commons team member, recently celebrated his retirement after 43 years with Ecumen! Mike has given so much to this organization in the last 43 years. From starting at our Shoreview corporate office to transitioning to Ecumen Lakeview Commons, this man has served hundreds of residents and put a smile on so many team members' faces. We are so grateful for his service and wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors!
We have the best Board Members! In fact, Ecumen Board Member Dan Abdul was named one of Twin Cities Business' Outstanding Directors. At a recent ceremony, he spoke about Ecumen's unwavering commitment to quality and care for those we serve. Congratulations, Dan, and thank you for choosing to serve on our board as we advocate for older adults.
Thank you to Chloe, our Resident Services Coordinator, for connecting with Good in the 'Hood and Second Harvest Heartland to provide this popup grocery stand for residents at The Hillock. Thanks to the "Food Shelf-In-A-Box" program, residents can get the delicious and nutritious food they need right at the community. We love to see this kind of dedication and creative thinking!
Katie Lundmark, Director of Operations at Ecumen, has been appointed to the Minnesota Nursing Home Workforce Standards Board by the Minnesota Governor and Lieutenant Governor. Katie is a true advocate for our team members and those we serve across the state! #EcumenProud #JoinOurTeam
We are excited to welcome CentraCare – St. Benedict’s Community in St. Cloud, Monticello and Sartell to Ecumen! Ecumen was selected as the new owner of these three long-term care and senior housing communities by CentraCare, in part, because of its outstanding reputation, and its commitment to the tradition of the St. Benedict’s Community. “We couldn’t be happier that we are bringing our mission of providing compassionate health care and innovative services to the greater St. Cloud area. We are eager to get to know the team members and residents here, and to be part of this already vibrant community,” said Ecumen President and CEO Shelley Kendrick.
Summertime at an Ecumen community looks pretty sweet whether you call us home or work with us! 🌞😎🌭🌼🎣
We're thrilled to announce that Ecumen Lakeview Commons has been named a 2023 Bronze National Quality Award recipient! This prestigious recognition highlights the team's commitment to delivering outstanding quality care and services to those we serve.
In 1944, Betty joined the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corp - an initiative during WWII to address the serve shortage of nurses in the US. 120,000 honorable and courageous women, like Betty, made a pledge to serve the country as nurses for the duration of the war. Our Ecumen Hospice team had the privilege of honoring Betty's service through a veteran pinning ceremony, timed perfectly to coincide with National Nurses Week. Making it extra special, Betty read aloud the U.S. Cadet Nurse pledge that she also said many years ago. Thank you, Betty, for your patriotism and service to the United States of America.
