This month's charity is Feeding Tampa Bay! The past couple of years have proven to be totally different than what anyone expected, and all charities are being asked for more hand-ups than in past years. Feeding Tampa Bay, a part of the national Feeding America network, focuses on providing food to the hundreds of thousands of food-insecure families in the 10-county area of West Central Florida. Just like GTE, Feeding Tampa Bay had to quickly “learn” how to do business differently in an effort to continue their support of the families that need them. Feeding Tampa Bay has doubled its weekly meal distributions from 1 million to over 2 million. They offer a pre-prepared meal, aka Meals to Go, options and continue to serve over 40,000 hot meals each week out of their Trinity Café kitchen. Trinity Cafe, a program of Feeding Tampa Bay, is a free, full-service restaurant for those in need of a healthy meal and is located blocks from Headquarters. December is the month of “Giving Back” but it can be especially difficult during the holidays and even more difficult during a pandemic.

Established in 1993, Metro Inclusive Health is a nonprofit organization that provides quality health and wellness services that are inclusive, relevant, supportive, and represent the lifetime continuum of the diverse people in our community. With active Health & Community Center locations throughout the Tampa Bay area, the centers provide premier comprehensive medical and social services. This includes HIV services and medical care, social activities, and classes, support groups, counseling, health, and wellness programs, psychiatric medication management, and more. They strive to promote a healthy environment for all and foster diversity within the community as a whole, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or economic status.
