Katie Echavarria has always had a passion for making a positive impact on people's lives. From the beginning of her EMS career, her passion has been driven by compassion for others. An extraordinary encounter with an infant, whose life she saved, forever shaped her enthusiasm for EMS. This compassion led her to a position where she guides and teaches others. As a pilot instructor for Guardian Flight, Katie believes her role is a great calling and privilege to be able to teach future aviators to fly. A pivotal moment in Katie’s aviation career occurred just one week into teaching at Guardian Flight when a student told her she had a gift for teaching and helped him overcome an obstacle. Through her guidance, she has made a lasting impact on the amazing pilots who work alongside her. Katie’s advice to aspiring female aviators who are considering a career in the industry is to have faith and never stop believing. She stands firm on her faith in God and making the heavens her office view is one of the best decisions she has ever made. She is inspired to see more women in the industry and encourages more women to join. Katie exemplifies the leadership and compassion that define our team. We are proud to have her as a valuable member of our GMR family. Thank you, Katie, for your hard work and commitment to the communities we serve. #WOAW #OneTeam

Kelly Cleary’s journey into EMS was driven by an unyielding desire to acquire basic emergency care skills after becoming a mother. The responsibility of caring for her child ignited a passion to equip herself with the skills and knowledge necessary to handle any emergency situation. Her dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of her child and the community led her to pursue a career in EMS more than 28 years ago. Over the years, Kelly has made remarkable strides in the EMS industry. After transitioning from an EMT to a paramedic in 1995, her love for EMS truly blossomed. Her ability to change the course of someone's life during a critical moment became a source of fulfillment and purpose. Kelly went on to become a flight paramedic with Med-Trans, and later the clinical quality accreditation manager. She now holds the position of national accreditation manager for GMR. Kelly's early experiences in EMS reinforced the importance of effective communication and teamwork. Her ability to communicate efficiently, adapt messages to different audiences and build strong relationships have been instrumental in the accreditation process and overall success. For those considering a career in EMS with GMR, Kelly’s advice is to embrace your passion for EMS, be dedicated to learning and growth, and showcase how your values align with GMR's mission to provide care to the world at a moment's notice. Caleb Curtis discovered his passion for EMS more than 22 years ago while studying at Auburn University in Alabama. He stumbled upon the "Student Firefighter" program that paid for his firefighter certification. As a firefighter, he once responded to a cardiac arrest and witnessed the EMS crew successfully resuscitate the patient. This experience motivated Caleb to pursue a career in EMS. Over the years, Caleb has held various positions in the EMS industry, including EMT, paramedic, ground critical care transport nurse and paramedic, flight nurse and paramedic, base clinical lead, and now serves as a regional clinical educator for Air Evac Lifeteam. Teaching and educating new EMS professionals is his passion. He is always striving to improve the knowledge and skills of ground and air crews to provide top-notch care to his patients. Caleb is a dedicated EMS professional with a wealth of experience, commitment to teaching and unwavering dedication. We're thrilled to have Caleb on our team and look forward to many more years of making a difference in the communities that we serve. #EMSforLife To learn more about GMR career opportunities in your area, visit careers.gmr.net
