This week our interns are very excited for our coffee chat with Jodie Kaufman, the Corporate Senior Vice President of H.W. Kaufman Group and the Managing Director at Burns & Wilcox Canada! Jodi has been recognized by Insurance Business Canada as being named in IBC’s Elite Women 2020. Insurance Business Canada shines a light on 45 women who have made great strides and differences in the Insurance industry. Executives like Jodi Kaufman are helping pave the way for the next generation of women who hold leadership positions in this field, which has been previously dominated by men. As a managing director of all six of our Burns & Wilcox Canadian offices, Jodi leads talent and business development initiatives which has greatly contributed to Burns & Wilcox major growth and success.
We are excited to announce that, H.W. Kaufman has raised over $60,000 in donations to Hunger Relief Organizations amid COVID-19. Throughout the month of May we have come together to help communities around us during this difficult time. Kaufman will donate the proceeds to Feeding America, Food Banks Canada, and The Trussell Trust. Many teams within the Kaufman Group have stepped in to donate to Detroit’s Hospital Cereal Drive, donate blood to the Red Cross, and contributed to the Frontline Responders Fund. #KaufmanGivesBack
On June 1st, H.W. Kaufman Group kicked off the Annual Corporate Summer Internship Program. We welcomed 8 new interns at our headquarters in Metro Detroit and various field offices. The interns will be working alongside many business teams and learning about Kaufman’s powerful global network of companies dedicated to shaping the future of insurance. We are happy to be hosting three WSIA Interns for four weeks this summer, at various Burns & Wilcox offices across the U.S. The WSIA Program is also known as The Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association. This is a world-class service organization, with members striving to build relationships and knowledge in the wholesale, specialty, and surplus lines insurance industry. During their time with Burns & Wilcox they will be learning about brokerage of wholesale specialty insurance.
