Last week, we had the incredible honor of ringing the Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange in celebration of H&R Block’s 70th anniversary. Standing on the NYSE floor alongside our Chief Financial Officer Tiffany Mason, CPA, members of our senior leadership team, Block associates, tax pros—and even Max—was a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come and the Purpose that continues to guide us: to provide help and inspire confidence in our clients and communities everywhere. What began in July 1955 as a bold idea from brothers Henry and Richard Bloch has grown into a company with more than 10,000 retail offices worldwide—serving millions and helping people navigate life’s financial moments. Seventy years later, we’re still innovating, still growing, and still putting people (and their financial freedom) first. Here’s to the legacy we’ve built—and the future we’re creating. #HRBlock #NYSE #70HRB
We’re officially rebooted and ready for the new fiscal year. A few weeks ago, we wrapped up our fifth annual Reboot Week—a company-wide, intentional pause at the end of our fiscal year designed to help us recharge and refocus. It’s our yearly invitation to unplug, rest, and reset so we can step into the second half of the year energized and inspired. No emails. No meetings. Just rest. Curious how our teams spent their time off? Check out our highlight reel on our LinkedIn page featuring photos shared by our associates. You can also explore the #BlockReboot hashtag to see how they made the most of their week—whether they traveled, practiced self-care, or gave back through #MakeEveryBlockBetter. Now, with fresh energy and clear minds, we’re ready for what’s next. Here’s to an outstanding start to FY26! #HRBlock #BlockPride #HighPerformingConnectedCulture
The fourth iteration of our #OpenIT hackathon was a global celebration of curiosity, collaboration, and bold thinking. 🌍 Over 500 associates from the U.S., India, and Ireland came together to solve real challenges faced by our clients and teams. Many were first-time hackers, but every team embraced experimentation in the name of innovation and customer centricity. Teams formed organically across Engineering, Product, Experience Design and Marketing—each selecting their own problem statements and bringing them to life through a mix of technology and ingenuity. This year’s event saw 2X growth from last year, with: 🇮🇳 63 teams from H&R Block India 🇺🇸 21 teams from the U.S. and Ireland 👩💻 9 interns and 9 Accelerators (a brand-new cohort of early career software engineers) In two 24-hour hacks, this team has opened new efficiencies and insights for H&R Block associates with their AI-powered reporting tool. This leap in operational innovation will enable us to serve our customers even better. Huge congratulations to all participants. You’re shaping the future of Block—one idea at a time. #HRBlock #70HRB #Hackathon #InnovationCulture #OpenIT2025 #EngAtBlock

Earlier this month, the Epsten Gallery at Village Shalom hosted the opening night of “The Bloch Family: A Visual Legacy” exhibition, celebrating H&R Block's 70th anniversary and its commitment to the Kansas City community. In attendance were Jeff Jones, President and CEO, Dara Redler, Chief Legal Officer, Tiffany Mason, CPA, Chief Financial Officer, members of the Bloch family, H&R Block Foundation representatives, Village Shalom residents, art community members, and H&R Block associates. The exhibition features 17 pieces from H&R Block's art collection, showcasing themes of home, the Midwest, and the Bloch family’s ties to the region, focusing on Kansas City artists: Jason Pollan, Adolfo Gustavo Martinez, Tom Gragg, and Matt Kube. Personal artifacts from the Bloch family's history are also on display. The Bloch legacy is deeply embedded in the heart and core of H&R Block, a company that has now been going strong for 70 years. Five years ago, H&R Block founded Make Every Block Better, which serves as our commitment to bringing communities together and giving back. During our Town Hall on Wednesday, we reflected on the last five years and used it as an opportunity to live out our Purpose in the community. At our annual giveback event, H&R Block associates participated in the largest on-site volunteer activity that Harvesters—The Community Food Network has ever done with another organization. Here are the details: 🤝 More than 800 H&R Block associates participated in the hour-long event. 📦 2,200 meal kits were assembled to combat food insecurity during the holiday season. 👨👩👦👦 Each meal kit feeds a family of four, which means 8,800 people will enjoy a meal during the holidays. Harvesters is an integral part of the Kansas City community, providing food and household items to more than 900 nonprofit agencies, including emergency food pantries, community kitchens, homeless shelters, and children’s homes For our virtual associates, we initiated a card-writing campaign for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. If you wish to send a card as well, you can visit this link: https://hrblock.io/StJude During this busy holiday season, we’re so thankful for our associates who are dedicated to Making Every Block Better!
At H&R Block, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back and Making Every Block Better. Throughout this week at hashtag#FrontlineForum2024, we had the opportunity to bring together a thousand franchisees and company field leaders for multiple giveback opportunities. Both groups rolled up their sleeves and worked for multiple deserving organizations. Their efforts supported a book and literacy drive for Lead to Read, letters for Heartland Honor Flights, hygiene and flyaway kits for Soldiers' Angels, and Interview Kits for Connections to Success. Meanwhile, the Elevate Belonging@Block group hosted the hashtag#SneakerBall on Wednesday night, which was a fun and inspiring evening dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Gift of Sole, a local organization providing local kids and families in need with new sneakers. Thank you to Kevin Holmes, news anchor for KSHB / KMCI / The EW Scripps Company, who helped kickoff the event and discussed his personal connection to the cause. We are proud to be part of such impactful events and to contribute to the well-being of our community. #Giveback #BlockPride #HRBlock #MakeEveryBlockBetter! 💚 Learn more about our belonging groups here: https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/belonging-block/
