This weekend, two teams of H2Mers led by team captains Liz Uzzo and Joseph Mottola participated in Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's Cycle for Survival Event at Equinox Bryant Park! Cycle for Survival is the movement to raise money to fund research to beat rare cancers. These high energy indoor team cycling events are a tangible way to fight back - 100% of all money raised directly funds lifesaving rare cancer research. Last night, H2M architects + engineers' Andrea Sobocinski recieved Long Island Business News' 2020 40 under 40 Award! This award honors future leaders on Long Island that have already begun to distinguish themselves in business, government, education, and not-for-profit sector. They all have a proven track record of career success, are involved in mentoring and promoting their profession and also find time to give back to their communities. Andrea has been with H2M for 15 years and is our Corporate CRM Administrator. She is involved in several H2M extra-curricular activities ranging from the Young Professionals Committee to softball and volleyball; while also presenting at software conventions and representing H2M. Andrea is a Director on the Board of Canstruction Long Island, Inc. and has led H2M's involvement with Canstruction for years. Andrea is a “go to” for many people throughout the company. The H2M architects + engineers Sustainability Committee sponsored a Lunch and Learn this month featuring a presentation by our own Michael Tumulty. Mike's presentation was called "Stronger and More Resilient Infrastructure to Address the Effects of Climate Change." The discussion and questions also qualified some participants for continuing education credits.
