Hartford HealthCare continues to focus on keeping our employees and communities safe during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. To date, more than 120,000 tests have been completed at our fixed and mobile testing locations. We continue to stockpile PPE for our clinical teams, keep our ventilators in peak working condition, and have tweaked plans for 'expanding ancillary hospital beds' if needed.
As the COVID-19 pandemic changed lives for all of us, our Hartford HealthCare leadership team stepped up to provide additional support to our incredible 30,000+ colleagues. Here is just a sample of the support our staff received during this time: - No furloughs or layoffs - No PPE shortages - Bonuses given to all staff in the middle of the pandemic - Created a $3+ million dollar employee assistance fund - Daily COVID-19 updates - Temporary housing made available to front line staff

Andy Grammer, multi-platinum singer and songwriter, performs his song "Keep your head up" for Hartford HealthCare, to honor their work in the fight against COVID-19. Andy performed at this year’s Hartford HealthCare's blockbuster Black & Red event, and impressed everyone with his graciousness and talent. He warmed hearts in January when he visited patients as part of his appearance here — and today, in this video, he does so again in how he sums up Nurses Week: “You are brave. You are noble. You are the best of us.”
In this time of great need, the care our staff on the front line give is a true gift! Tuesday afternoon, on 4/7/2020, a parade of fire trucks, sounding their sirens and flashing their lights, drove slowly around the horseshoe roadway in front of the hospital’s main entrance to show support and solidarity for staff on the frontline of the COVID-19 crisis. We appreciate our staff for everything they do here at Hartford HealthCare!
