Meet Camella, Nurse Manager at Henderson Hospital! Check out her career journey with #LifeAtVHS: "My career within the Valley Health System started in 2018. I started as a medical surgical nurse. In 2019, an opportunity came to me to transfer to Henderson Hospital. It is here that my career truly took flight. My colleagues recognized my potential, and I was invited to take on the role of a preceptor, guiding and mentoring new nurses as they navigated their own paths. As time progressed, I was offered to expand my horizons further and received training to become a charge nurse. In this role, my skills in leadership and decision-making were honed. It was during this phase that I realized my passion for leading teams and making impactful changes within the healthcare setting. With dedication, hardwork and the support of my team, I was promoted as a nurse manager. My journey at VHS has been a testament to the opportunities for growth and development within the organization, and I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in my role as a nurse leader."

Meet Chad, an RN III ER at Henderson Hospital! Chad shares his career journey from schooling to professional roles with #LifeAtVHS. "On January 31, 2022, I started nursing school at Roseman University of Health Science in Henderson, NV. I was extremely nervous & apprehensive as a student, so I knew that the earlier I could increase my exposure to patient interactions, the sooner I could focus on providing patient care. I started working at Spring Valley Hospital's IMC as a NAP in October but was encouraged by my best friend, who worked in Henderson Hospital's ER, to pick up a shift just once to see how I liked it. I was drawn to the excitement, mystery, & camaraderie present in the ER. As I continued picking up as many shifts until I could transfer in May, my nervousness turned into willingness & my apprehension turned into curiosity & excitement. Thankfully, I was able to both pass the NCLEX & be offered a position in the same ER where I was able to grow as a NAP. It has been three months since starting as a new grad RN. I appreciate having such supportive colleagues, & my excitement only grows as I continue my career in our ER."
