While out in the field last month, our team came across a baby raccoon laying on the ground next to a creek, not able to crawl or walk. The raccoon was only a few days old (as we were later told by the vet); its eyes were not open yet and the baby was helpless on its own, with its mother nowhere to be found. The baby raccoon was brought to the nearest animal rescue organization where she was cleaned up and is expected to make a full recovery and be released back into the wild. Check her out!
