On Saturday we celebrated the 45th Anniversary of the first Toyotathon! In 1976, during the first #Toyotathon, Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC sold 3,000 vehicles in a 36-hour television explosion of advertisements! 33 markets took part and generated more than $12 million in sales! As part of our continued efforts to acknowledge the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., JM Family is sponsoring a âMLK Day of Serviceâ this year for our associates. This day of service will be held later in the year due to current COVID-19 restrictions. We canât wait to share more details about our event later this fall! In lieu of rolling up our sleeves and volunteering together today, we are honoring "MLK Day of Service" by making a $25,000 contribution to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). The UNCF is an American philanthropic organization that funds scholarships for black students and general scholarship funds for 37 private historically black colleges and universities.

As part of our continuous effort to build a culture of collaborative innovation, we recently hosted our third annual Hackathon event. The initial two Hackathons have spawned many valuable conversations and ideas for future business projects. This yearâs winners, the Wacky Pack of Lobstermen from Mars, developed a solution to the accessibility of data that helps solve reconciliation issues in their day-to-day work. Their solution allows users to access the mainframe quickly and simply when needed, whether it be through web or bot, using text or voice. In December we celebrated Habitat for the Holidays with the four new Habitat for Humanity of Broward homeowners whose houses were built in part by JM Family associates. Our Corporate Community Impact team members dropped off a basket filled with games, handcrafted treasures, a sweet treat, and more to help each of the families celebrate their first holiday in their new community.
