We’re excited to have been named as one of Europe’s Climate Leaders by Financial Times and Statista! 🎉 The list spotlights companies that are making good progress on cutting carbon emissions especially from their own operations (scope 1 and 2). In addition, it considers transparency on scope 3 emissions coming from the value chain. We were the first in our industry to set ambitious, science-based climate targets in 2020, and have been making steady progress since. We’re working tirelessly on decarbonizing both our own operations and decreasing emissions from our products’ lifetime energy consumption and materials. We published our Q1 2025 results today. KONE’s President and CEO Philippe Delorme said: ”The first quarter marked a solid start to the year. Growth momentum outside China was good, resulting in orders received increasing by 5% and sales by nearly 3%. In China, our performance was, as anticipated, impacted by continued pressure in the property markets. Although we still expect the demand for New Building Solutions in China to decline significantly this year, we have begun to see a pathway towards stabilization. From a business perspective, Modernization really stood out in the quarter. We grew both orders and sales by nearly 20%, with excellent development in all areas. Service growth was also healthy, which contributed to a favorable sales mix and allowed us to deliver continued improvement in profitability. Looking ahead, I see exciting opportunities and am confident in the resilience of our model. Although the New Building Solutions business is likely to face some market uncertainty, our order book and positive outlook for Service and Modernization provide a solid foundation for growth. With this in mind, we have specified our guidance for the year. We expect sales to grow by 1-6% at comparable exchange rates, and the adjusted EBIT margin to be in the range of 11.8%-12.4% in 2025. With clarity of direction and dedicated focus on strategy execution, we are well equipped to deliver on our ambition to lead the industry.” Read more below 👇

Last year KONE Americas began working toward reducing our vehicle emissions by 50% in the U.S. and Canada as part of our Global Climate Pledge. This is a step toward our larger goal to Cut Carbon for a more sustainable future. Our team decided to replace higher emission vehicles with hybrid Ford Maverick pickups. By the end of 2024, we had successfully added 100 Ford Maverick vehicles to our fleet, and we’re excited to roll out 700 more in 2025. “We are proud of these steps toward a net-zero future. By reducing our emissions, we are taking a sustainable, safe and employee-focused approach toward achieving our goals,” says Corey Ward, SVP Safety, Quality, and Environment. “As a leader in the industry, we are doing our part to protect our planet and align with the needs of our customers.” #KONE #CutCarbon #Sustainability #LifeatKONE

Did you know that every year, humans produce between 2.1 billion and 2.3 billion tonnes of municipal solid waste? 🚮 At KONE, we focus on reducing materials, energy, and resources. We aim for 0% landfill waste at our factories by 2030. Recently, as the first elevator company in China, our Kunshan factory achieved a Zero Waste to Landfill Platinum Operations certification. Working with stakeholders to eliminate and reduce non-recyclable packaging, our team managed to reduce sludge generation, improve general waste sorting and introduce other zero waste-management actions. Well done! 👏🏻💙 Last year, in ten of our factories, 99% of the waste was recycled or incinerated – only 0.5% was put into landfill.
