Kiewit is excited to have been selected as the construction manager for the I-55 Bridge replacement project by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). This project represents a historic investment in the state’s infrastructure, supported by TDOT and the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT), making it the single-largest transportation investment in Tennessee state history. The new bridge will replace the existing 75-year-old structure, enhancing capacity, improving safety and ensuring long-term resilience. Kiewit is working with other industry leaders to address mental health and suicide prevention. As a founding member of the CEO Advisory Council, Kiewit is committed to advancing mental health awareness and support for construction workers. At the council’s inaugural meeting, CEOs including Kiewit’s CEO Rick Lanoha met with leaders from Bechtel Corporation, Fluor Corporation, Turner Construction Company, North America's Building Trades Unions, Clark Construction Group and Skanska. Hosted by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the meeting brought leaders together to assess progress, identify gaps and implement new programs aimed at reducing suicide rates. Kiewit remains committed to working with its partners to expand mental health resources and strengthen support for construction and engineering professionals.

The replacement of Highway 1’s Nicomen River Bridge is officially complete, offering safer and more reliable travel for drivers while being better equipped to withstand extreme weather. The new two-lane bridge replaces the previous structure, which sustained damage from heavy rains and floods in November 2021. Crews strengthened the foundation, reinforced the embankment to prevent erosion and rehabilitated pavement on the bridge approaches – ensuring long-term durability. Congratulations to everyone involved in this project!

It’s been a year since Kiewit Corporation finalized its acquisition of Weeks Marine, Inc. (WMI), a leading maritime contractor in North America. As a result, Kiewit is formally expanding its expertise. “We’ve gone from specializing in seven market segments to focusing on eight, with marine being the eighth market as a result of our 2023 acquisition of Weeks Marine,” said Executive Vice President Dave Miles. With a 10-year opportunity forecast of $128 billion, the marine market is full of opportunities, explains Miles. “Before Weeks, Kiewit performed a number of marine projects on both the east and west coast and in the Gulf of Mexico, but most of that work was in support of heavy, large construction projects,” he said. “However, the acquisition of Weeks has really put us in a different position, specifically in dredging projects around North America.”

By using raised rows of solar modules, nearly 80 percent of land will remain open to the sky at the Gemini solar project, helping to protect and preserve the existing natural environment.
