Together with Freddie Mac Multifamily, L+M held its first virtual Gen–2–Gen speaker event for L+M's summer internship program recently, entitled "Building Stronger Communities Together". The event featured a lineup of professionals from the affordable housing and real estate development industries with the goal of cultivating talent from underrepresented, historically marginalized groups and supporting the next generation of leaders by providing our interns with access to industry leaders to build their professional network. Bringing our two firms together to support the next generation of leaders was an amazing and educational experience, and we'd like to thank all the speakers: Daniel Herrera, Peter Lillestolen, and Alexis Sofyano from Freddie Mac Multifamily and Spencer Orkus and Elaine Braithwaite from L+M. A big thank you also to Sharon Stokes and Olufunke Owolabi of Freddie Mac Multifamily for their help in creating this event and for their dedication to supporting the next generation of industry leaders.
