In 1985, LMI welcomed Ms. Joan E. Lengel Habermann as our first female research director. As LMI’s first female vice president a few years later, she was responsible for information systems, mathematical models, and materiel management. She worked on planning and modernization of the Defense Logistics Standard Systems, development and evaluation of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) energy information systems, information resource management for ASD(P&L), and many other major projects. Her contributions blazed the trail for our first female board member.
