In support of the Rhonda Walker Foundation's Girls into Women program, our CIO Bonnie Smith delivered 6 academic scholarships on behalf of Lear, with the most significant scholarship going to Makiah Shipp, a recent graduate from Detroit Edison Early College of Excellence. Our Pine Grove, PA, facility, is ramping up their production to produce up to 500,000 protective masks per week. Across 10 plants globally, Lear employees have now produced over 5 million masks. “As the world combats this virus, we remain committed to making personal protective equipment, prioritizing the health and safety of our employees, and supporting the communities where we live and work,” said President and CEO Ray Scott.

During the visit, they experienced first-hand the health and safety protocols and procedures from our #SafeWorkPlaybook to help employees safely return to work, including self-assessment and temperature checks before entering the facility, participating in stand-up meetings and wearing proper PPE. #OneLear

With PPE in short supply, our team from our Philippine Engineering and Technology Center recently retrofitted portable countertop ovens with short-wave ultraviolet (UV-C) lights, which are commonly used to disinfect water, sterilize surfaces and destroy harmful micro-organisms. The team donated the retrofitted ovens to the local Red Cross, Chong Hua Hospital and Vincente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu, Philippines. #OneLear
