One of our local industrial clients came to our team to help redesign a refrigeration AHU for their meat-packing facility in Detroit, MI. This client was experiencing a lot of ice buildup from poor air distribution across the coils, and they were concerned that they didn't have any redundancy and lacked the necessary capacity for their operations. The existing AHU was just two years old, and our client didn't have it in their budget or schedule for a complete replacement. After involving our in-house engineering team, Limbach Collaborative Services, to perform load calculations and redesign the AHU, our Michigan team developed an innovative solution that provided our client with improved control and airflow, consistent cool temperatures, and the necessary extra redundancy to prevent future production issues. Some see a challenge; we see an opportunity! Check out the latest air handler replacement done by our Mid-Atlantic team. Working with one of our local university clients, our team was tasked with removing and replacing an existing AHU in the penthouse through a standard 3 ft. door. To meet the tight space requirements, our team disassembled the new AHU at our fab shop, categorized and relabeled the equipment, shipped it to the job site, and then lifted it to the roof for a quick and efficient assembly. Today we announced the planned succession of Limbach's CEO, Charles A. (Charlie) Bacon III, and the appointment of our new CEO and current COO, Michael McCann, effective March 29, 2023. Charlie has served in this role for 19 years, joining Limbach in 2004, and he has played a critical role in leading our Company's evolution. Among his many accomplishments were successfully launching our industry-recognized Safety Week, taking our Company public in 2016, and leading our owner-direct strategy (ODR). Charlie will stay on as a special advisor and remain on the Board of Directors through our annual meeting, at which time he will retire. Thank you, Charlie, for your leadership and commitment to Limbach. We wish you and your family all the best as you enter this new chapter! Limbach's new CEO, Mike McCann, joined Limbach in 2010 and has demonstrated success at every level and position he has held within the Company.
