Team MEMIC had the best time at Pride Portland 🎉 It was an incredible day filled with joy, unity, and a whole lot of love ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 🤍🖤 At MEMIC, we’re committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and celebrated. We’re proud to walk hand in hand with the LGBTQIA+ community, honoring diversity and promoting inclusion every day.
Despite the challenges of COVID-19, MEMIC proceeded with its #internship program - ten college students serving remotely in nearly every department of the company. It's another way for us to invest in the future of MEMIC as well as the insurance industry. Emma, a business administration major at Merrimack College, worked remotely with our Underwriting Compliance & Training team. She connected well with her summer colleagues. "I really respect and value #MEMIC?s focus on culture and connectivity among employees. As an intern, I also was able to meet with CEO Mike Bourque, and that isn?t something most employees at other companies can say."
With much of the American workforce transitioned to spare bedrooms, basements and kitchen counters, MEMIC has been counseling everyone to take stock of their physical comfort. In a word, ERGONOMICS. Soft tissue injuries can be just as painful as acute trauma so take advantage of our online resources to check your new work space for safety.
At the company's first-ever Talent Showcase, more than a dozen employees brought their talent to the stage. And, oh my, what talent! Singers, an in-house band, comedians and skits made the all-employee evening a great success.
Do we support the community? Yes we CAN! In fact, employees raised enough money to build a Safe T Rex can sculpture for the annual United Way competition. All the food from participating companies went to area food banks.
MEMIC's UMaine hockey fans and their families were treated to a weekend game in January between the Black Bears and the University of Nebraska Omaha Mavericks. Prime seating, an on-ice greeting by MEMIC's President & CEO Mike Bourque and an ample supply of food made the employee outing a delicious and successful event.
