We were honored to host both U.S. Senators from Illinois, Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth, at the Edgar J. Curtis Memorial Learning Center on Tuesday. We were joined by leaders from SIU Medicine, Springfield Clinic and HSHS St. John’s Hospital to talk about how cuts to Medicaid and other federal programs will affect how we care for our patients and communities. It's great to be part of a community where leaders of different organizations can come together to advocate for the well-being of our neighbors and our healthcare workforce. Thank you to Sen. Durbin and Sen. Duckworth for being part of that conversation!

Drew Early was named Memorial Health's Chief Operating Officer! Drew, who currently serves as CEO of Decatur Memorial Hospital, will assume responsibilities as COO while continuing to lead DMH until a new CEO is appointed. In the COO role, Drew, who's been with Memorial Health since 2006, will partner with President and CEO Mandy Eaton to oversee system operations and drive greater alignment across all hospitals and services.
The Memorial Health Board of Directors has selected Mandy C. Eaton, PhD, as the organization’s next president and CEO. Her first day will be April 1, following the March 31 retirement of Ed Curtis. Dr. Eaton previously served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Cone Health, a non-profit healthcare organization that includes five hospitals and numerous outpatient locations serving a five-county area in North Carolina. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in public health and a Master of Science degree in healthcare administration, before earning a doctorate degree in leadership studies from North Carolina A&T State University. “The board was impressed with Dr. Eaton’s leadership skills, her vision for Memorial and her understanding of the important role we play in serving central Illinois,” said Michael A.
