What began as a simple idea—create access to quality food that traditional retail leaves behind—has grown into something much bigger: a new kind of grocery platform designed for the realities of a perishable supply chain. Fixing inefficiencies in the food system has unlocked win after win for farmers and producers, real savings for customers, and a meaningful reduction in waste, all at national scale. Seven years on, we’re still guided by our same mission, and we’re still very much in “day one.” Thank you to the farmers, makers, partners, customers, and team members who have made this journey possible, and to Chloe and Forbes for telling it with such thoughtfulness and care.
We launched something new at hashtag#MisfitsMarket—and it doesn't belong in your fridge. Our brand-new Household aisle is officially live, featuring ~30 everyday essentials that meet the same high standards we hold for our groceries. From biodegradable trash bags to safer laundry care and compostable kitchen basics, these are products made with clean ingredients and more environmentally-friendly materials that actually get the job done. We took our time bringing household products to Misfits Market because we wanted to do it right. That meant digging into ingredient lists, testing for real-world results, and choosing products that work just as well (or better) than the conventional stuff. Mission-driven brands like Molly's Suds, If You Care, Repurpose, Caboo Products, and Root and Splendor made the cut because they care as much about performance and transparency as they do about sustainability. Huge thanks to our Merchandising team for their thoughtful work sourcing products we believe in, and that we know our customers will care about, too.
Spotted something Misfit-y in the wild? 👀🍑 Our latest out-of-home campaign is live across NYC and Boston, and it’s a celebration of everything that makes hashtag#MisfitsMarket different from your average grocery store. While other grocers stock the status quo, we go after something better: food that’s high-quality, full of flavor, and often overlooked. From cheeky wild postings to bold billboards, this hashtag#campaign puts our unexpected finds front and center where they belong. Big thanks to our hashtag#marketing and hashtag#creative teams for bringing this campaign to life with thoughtfulness and a bit of mischief.
Today, we’re proud to share that Misfits Market has acquired The Rounds (Acquired by Misfits Market), a zero-waste delivery platform for groceries and household essentials that shares our dedication to building a better, more sustainable food system. We're thrilled to carry forward the vision that Alexander Torrey, Byungwoo Ko, and their team designed, one that's reduced waste at every step in the supply chain and inspired a loyal community. The Rounds’ member base and partnerships perfectly complement our own, and help accelerate our vision of a grocery experience that’s better for people, food producers, and the planet. We're already at work on expanding The Rounds' established partnership model with multifamily operators and corporate partners to reach hundreds of thousands of new customers nationwide. This deal marks a significant step in our strategy to build the most efficient, sustainable grocery platform in the country. While others are scaling back, we’re actively investing in what the future of grocery will look like: less waste, smarter infrastructure, and better food access for all.
