Oskaloosa will take the national stage this summer as it hosts the 2026 Junior League Softball Central Region Tournament from July 23–29—the first time the community has ever welcomed this event. The tournament will bring state‑champion teams from across the region to compete for a spot in the Junior League Softball World Series, creating an unforgettable week for players, families, and fans. Assistant Central Region Director of Little League, Cody Shimp, shared, “From my first visit to the Lacey Recreation Complex, it was clear Oskaloosa is well suited to host a tournament of this caliber. The facilities are first class, and the combination of a strong and welcoming community will create an outstanding experience for the players.” Oskaloosa Mayor Dave Krutzfeldt added that the welcome ceremony will take place on the city's historic square during the annual Sweet Corn Serenade, making the experience even more memorable for visiting teams and the community alike. The weeklong event is expected to draw around 150 players and roughly 500 additional family members and supporters. From high‑quality facilities to a supportive local community, this tournament reflects what Musco is proud to stand behind—creating opportunities, strengthening communities, and helping deliver experiences that bring people together.

Des Moines Public Schools will soon be home to four new soccer and basketball community courts courtesy of Musco Lighting and the Caitlin Clark Foundation. The courts will open later this year at Hiatt Middle School, Callanan Middle School, McCombs Middle School, and Weeks Middle School. The Caitlin Clark Foundation and Musco call their relationship a perfect match. The two organizations are located in Iowa and are both committed to equitable access to recreation for youth. Both have a passion for sports, whether it is a game played at the local park and recreation field, a high school gymnasium, a college arena, or a professional venue. Both understand that sports build teamwork, resiliency, and healthy habits. “There’s nothing more rewarding than projects that make a difference in kids’ lives,” said CEO Jeff Rogers. “Our partnership with the Caitlin Clark Foundation is meaningful because it stems from shared values to provide increased access to recreation and safer and more enjoyable playing experiences.” Globally, Musco annually impacts 50 million kids, fostering equitable play. The list is based on feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by Energage. The survey measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to an organization’s success including alignment, performance, and connection. Additionally, Musco earned a specialty award for Direction. This award is given to companies where team Members feel especially strongly that the organization is going in the right direction. “I’m happy to see Musco recognized for a second year as one of the best places to work in Iowa,” said Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Shelly Herr. “It’s always nice to get an award but it’s especially meaningful when the award is based on the experience of our team members.”
Musco is proud to announce that we have been named a National Top Workplace for 2024 through USA TODAY. This award comes from team member feedback that was gathered through an anonymous and confidential survey last year. We’re proud of how our team comes together every day to support each other and we strive to do our best to make Musco a great place to work. “This recognition is meaningful because it came from our team’s feedback,” commented Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Shelly Herr. Musco heard our team feels that we operate by strong values, that the company is going in the right direction, and that their job makes them feel like they’re part of something meaningful. “We’re always trying to make Musco an even better place to work, and our survey helped us clarify areas where we can improve. We know if we take care of the team, they’ll take care of each other, our communities, and our customers.”
Musco team member Brian Hadden was recently awarded the Service Member Patriot Award by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). This award reflects the efforts made by managers and employers to support those serving in the military through a wide range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed. These United States Department of Defense awards honor an employer’s commitment to support service members. Brian was nominated by former team member Justin Beener while Justin was serving in the National Guard during his time at Musco. Justin shared, “I nominated Brian and the rest of the Musco Team that had to work around my military service. Brian would always accommodate my military obligations without hesitation, even when they were last minute.” Musco President & CEO Jeff Rogers closed the award ceremony and noted, “Brian cares about his team and the entire Musco team. He’s focused on doing what’s right because it’s right and that’s evident in the way he supported Justin when he was in the National Guard.”

Musco Lighting has finalized plans for a 74,000 square-foot office renovation and expansion and a new 13,000 square-foot facility shop at its downtown Oskaloosa campus. It will provide space for continued growth and allow global team members and customers to come together to learn, connect, and collaborate. “We’ve been proud to call Oskaloosa home since Principal Owners Joe Crookham and Myron Gordin started the company in 1976,” shared President and CEO Jeff Rogers. “These investments we’re making are in our team, the community, and our future. The remodel and expansion will give us the updated facilities we need for our growing team, offer dedicated space for interacting and learning, and allow us more opportunities to welcome those who partner with us on innovative solutions.” The renovation and expansion will be a multi-million-dollar investment in the Musco team and in the community and the company’s largest investment in facilities to-date. The improvements will feature outdoor green spaces and connectors to the other Musco buildings in downtown Oskaloosa to create a campus feel and functionality. It will also include more and improved meeting and training rooms and open areas to accommodate larger gatherings. “I’m very proud of the addition and improvements we’re making to our campus,” Rogers shared. “The renovations and the expansion aren’t just about buildings and physical space. It’s a 25-year investment in our home base, our team, and our community.”
Team building at Wrigley Field Over 500 Musco team members recently traveled to iconic Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs. The outing included ballpark tours, lunch in Wrigleyville, and watching the Cubs win under the newly installed Musco lights. Team member and avid baseball fan, Sam Cole summed up the trip; “Years of playing baseball has shown me that the closer players are, the better the team. Traveling, eating together, swapping stories, and laughing was a great way to get better acquainted with co-workers. The Chicago trip was just plain fun.” At Musco we’re proud of the innovative lighting solutions we provide for professional ballparks and small-town fields. We also believe work can be fun, and sharing the experience of Wrigley Field under Musco LED lights was a great team-building experience.
