Our innovative COVID-19 testing solution, TourHealth, was launched at the University of Mississippi earlier this month. TourHealth features a seamless customer experience with appointment scheduling and customer support through the Gov2Go app, as well as result reporting to individuals, university officials and state government. “We are very pleased to partner with the University of Mississippi to keep students, faculty and staff safe during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond,” said Doug Rogers, NIC Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. “TourHealth is directly aligned with NIC’s mission of making essential government services, in this case vital coronavirus testing, more accessible for people across the country.”
With the onset of COVID-19, touchless self-service has become the new outdoors normal. Yesterday, NIC Outdoors' work was highlighted in a presentation on "Expanding Touchless Outdoor Recreation Experiences" featuring Sandi Miller, NIC Vice President of Outdoors, Amanda Mock, Maryland Park Service Director of Administration, and Chris Neff, NIC Vice President of Marketing and Research. Through NIC's digital solutions, agencies and organizations can offer digital entrance passes and permits and accept digital payments. The demand for touchless capabilities is emphasized by the more than 211,000 digital passes sold using YourPassNow.com across 28 state and federal properties in just 2020 alone. Take the State of Maryland for example: Falling Branch/Kilgore Falls averaged 761 passes sold per month from May to July. Of those passes sold, Maryland Park Service saw a 98% satisfaction rate, and more than 50% of passes were sold after business hours.
A new article from Government Technology features NIC Utah General Manager Brett Stott and the insights he shared at the September 2020 e.Republic Utah Digital Government Summit. Digitizing government services has become especially important during the pandemic, but according to Stott, it is also critical to ensure those services are accessible from different platforms like mobile devices. In fact, COVID-19 brought about a pronounced uptick in individuals accessing digital government services via mobile devices in the state of Utah, something Stott believes will soon be the preferred way to interact with government, pandemic or not. "For many constituents, (mobile) was the only way (to access services)," Stott said. "It's critical to keep looking at who's using services so that we're always designing the system for them."
