NCHS has once again received an A+ bond rating from Fitch Ratings credit rating agency, and was also recognized by the agency as having a stable fiscal outlook for the future! “This affirmed positive rating reflects our organization’s ability to adapt within a changing national environment of reduced healthcare reimbursements,” said Matthew A. Love, Interim President and CEO. “Maintaining a strong financial position in the marketplace enables us to further our longstanding mission to increase access to quality care for children in our community and beyond.” Congrats to all! 🎉✨ #icreateNCHS http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vMtCy

Today, we concluded the difficult process of reducing our workforce. We extend heartfelt thanks to those who have left our Nicklaus Children’s family and wish them every success in the future. This process, along with other cost-saving initiatives, was due to changes in the healthcare environment affecting operations for all health systems/hospitals. Our top priority is to maintain safety and quality of care. There have been completely unfounded rumors that we are filing for bankruptcy. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our nonprofit health system must balance income to expenses to preserve our continued legacy as the region’s pre-eminent children’s hospital. In our nearly 70-year history, we have had other course corrections that paved the way for future growth. These challenges will set the stage for continued success. We thank our employees and community for their dedication and support during this difficult time. It is our great privilege to serve the children and families of the region today, and for generations to come.
