Get to know Adriana, our newest EC! 🍹🍽 Born in Inglewood, CA, Adriana Larios was raised by her mom and big brother, who instilled the values of hard work and taking care of others. She first discovered her interest in cooking at home watching the Food Network. “I always gravitated towards sweets as a kid, so I started ‘baking’ by saving up enough money to buy box cake mixes,” Adriana said. As her passion grew stronger, her cousin Brenda invited her to join the world of pastry prep. Adriana landed her first kitchen job at NI El Segundo in 2017, where she quickly mastered all aspects of prep. For years, she’s continued growing her career and making a positive impact on NI Del Amo and Santa Monica. Adriana is not only known for her skills in the kitchen, but also her ability to connect with people. She finds great fulfillment in forging relationships and encouraging the talents of her teammates. “I love how everyone at North is so unique in their own way. We spend so much time together, we really become a family. That’s the kind of culture I live for!” Adriana said. There's nothing better than designing your own perfect pizza, especially with new friends! That's why NI Tysons recently hosted a pizza party with Best Buddies International, a non-profit that empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Under the guidance of our chefs, the "Citizen Buddies" and their caregivers got a behind-the-scenes tour of North Italia's kitchen, and even got to rock their own aprons and bandanas! Armed with dough, sauce, cheese and an assortment of toppings, they whipped up pizzas and filled our restaurant with laughter and joy. “We were very excited to collaborate with this organization for our first pizza class,” said GM Brandon Baker. “I cannot express enough gratitude for the love and enthusiasm Manager Liz Covey and Chefs Eric Serebrennik, Abel Ventura and Matt Skinner poured into this event. They made it so impactful for Citizen Buddies and for our entire team at Tysons!” North Italia's afternoon with Best Buddies shows how a simple pizza-making party can become a canvas for camaraderie and happiness. Not only did the participants learn how to make delicious food, but they also walked away with special take-home pasta packs and other swag courtesy of our marketing team.
