Phoenix Children’s clinical team recently celebrated another clinical milestone: The completion of 500+ pathologist-assisted fine needle aspirations. This minimally invasive biopsy procedure enables our clinicians to obtain a tissue or fluid sample from a patient in an operating room, at a clinic or right at their bedside, and examine it in real-time using a portable microscope. This innovative approach is safe, fast and accurate.

Our food services team recently hosted a healthy cooking demonstration attended by our pediatric radiology team, which used the event as a fun teambuilding activity. Both teams were honored to learn from special guest and renowned Chef Kenny Woods, executive chef of Fox Restaurant Concepts.

For patients who have difficulties sitting, walking, standing or moving independently, Phoenix Children’s offers a seating and mobility clinic — which brings together experts to evaluate patients and provide proper seating and mobility equipment that meets their specific needs.

Specifically designed with kids in mind, our new 35,000 sq. ft. emergency department (ED) features 40 exam and treatment rooms plus onsite imaging and lab services. This will replace our existing American Academy of Pediatrics-designated Level IV NICU and will enable us to further expand the highest level of medical care we provide newborns with the most complex neonatal conditions. Read all about planned features, amenities and careful considerations going into the design of this state-of-the-art NICU slated to open next year.
