Our FIT Team hosted its annual sushi-making class, and it delivered exactly what it always does: a good time and a few new skills. Working with fresh tuna, salmon, hamachi, and a table full of colorful veggies, Prometheans tried their hand at classic rolls, and a few went further into Korean kimbap and temaki territory. Some rolls came out looking restaurant ready. Others were, let's say, delightfully unique. Every one of them came with a lot of laughs. Our summer interns jumped in too, and mochi ice cream closed out the afternoon. It's the kind of event the FIT Team does best: no pressure, just a chance to try something new, connect with other Prometheans, and remember that wellness can be this simple. Our newest Prometheans built and painted a children's playhouse with Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley. A little house that'll become a clubhouse, pirate ship, bakery, and dragon's den, sometimes all before lunch. Once it finds its family to call home, we hope it remembers the proud, paint-splattered Prometheans who built it, and the Habitat for Humanity team who made it possible.

Last week’s to-do list included crafting toys, making blankets, and trying not to fall in love with every four-legged visitor from Humane Society Silicon Valley. Turns out a few hours spent together does a lot of good, for the animals and for the people in the room. Our Service Prometheans recently completed the Certified Pool Operator (CPO) training, strengthening their expertise in pool operations, safety, and water quality management. The training provided valuable hands-on knowledge and industry best practices, ensuring our teams are well equipped to maintain safe, clean, and well-managed pool environments for our Neighbors. It was also a great opportunity for our service team members to learn together, share experiences, and continue growing in their roles. We’re proud of the team’s commitment to professional development and to delivering exceptional service across our Neighborhoods.

Thank you to this incredible group of Prometheans who came together for the recent Second Harvest Food Sort volunteer event. The collective effort resulted in an impressive 19,872 pounds of food sorted—nearly 9 tons—helping support more than 600 families experiencing food insecurity. The time, energy, and heart that each volunteer brought to the effort are what make moments like this possible.

We spent Earth Day the way it should be—outside, a little hands-on, and in good company. At Coyote Park in San Mateo, our team joined the San Mateo Parks crew to clean up and care for the native plants around the rose garden. A little dirt (the good kind), a little teamwork, and a space that’s better for it.
