As part of RGE’s Golden Hearts initiative, our employees recently joined seniors from Fengshan Community Centre for a heart-warming experience at 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫: 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 – 𝐀 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞, co-organised with Heartware Network. Held at the beautiful Peranakan Museum, our volunteers walked side by side with the seniors, exploring rich cultural traditions, exchanging stories, and creating meaningful memories across generations. It was more than just a guided tour — it was a chance to slow down, connect deeply, and honour the heritage that shapes Singapore’s diverse identity. At RGE, we believe in uplifting communities through action and empathy. Enhancing safety and connectivity for two key regions, Pacific Canbriam Energy is proud to announce the official opening of the Haystack Road Bridge in Northeastern B.C. Canada. Part of the RGE group of companies, Pacific Canbriam Energy (PCE) took ownership of the previous bridge after it became apparent that it had become structurally unsound. With strong support from the community, PCE replaced and upgraded the Haystack Road Bridge, eliminating a two-hour detour and creating a crucial route during wildfires and emergencies, improved access to industrial locations, healthcare, education, and Indigenous communities, as well as safe passage for ranchers herding cattle. The new Haystack Road Bridge links Hudson’s Hope and Fort St. John to the Altares Processing Facility and Kobes region, strengthening connectivity and the communities in which we operate. “This bridge is a transformative improvement for the region, made possible by collaboration and shared commitment,” said Kevin Hall, PCE’s construction superintendent. “It stands as a testament to the power of collaboration. We look forward to the continued positive impact this infrastructure will have on the community and environment.” Because while we work to power and energise the world, we also work to do what is good for the community.

Ten years of safeguarding forests and empowering villages to prevent and combat forest fires. Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper (RAPP), a part of APRIL Group, held a Coordination Meeting with 52 Forest Protection Rangers across five districts, conducting trainings on fire monitoring and suppression skills, community agricultural self-sufficiency, and developing a mindset of forest and land protection in their villages. “I joined the Forest Protection Ranger Programme because my child was affected by Acute Respiratory Infection caused by forest and land fires,” shared Ihsan Kusnaidi, a Ranger from Langgam Village, Pelalawan. “That’s what moves me to be part of the ranger team.” The ranger team is a symbol of the positive synergy shared between the company and the community in the shared goal of maintaining forest sustainability. Up to 2024, RAPP has partnered with 42 villages in Riau Province, covering over 902,870 hectares of ground. Along the way, the programme has developed from a fire prevention team to a conservation programme that monitors logging, poaching, air quality, and holds conversations with the community on the dangers of land burning. After participating in the Coordination Meeting, the Rangers will be relaying the new information and techniques to their respective villages and communities, bringing full circle the goal of realising zero fires, not just for today, but for future years to come.

An integral part of Indonesia’s cultural heritage, batik not only plays a part in traditional rituals, but also holds a significant presence in the world of global fashion. To support the preservation of this timeless art while empowering the women of Pangkalan Kerinci, APRIL and Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) have teamed up to hold a joint batik training session this year. Themed “Batik Pattern Design and Colour Composition Training,” this year’s training was conducted by academics and fashionistas from the Maranatha Christian University. “It is necessary to increase design creativity to prevent batik patterns from becoming monotonous,” shares participant Ayu Ningsih of Rumah Batik Andalan Pelalawan. “We choose colour compositions and place motifs so that Riau batiks can have their own characteristics.” “We have been encouraging the growth of Batik in Riau since 2013,” says Sundari Berlian, Operational Manager of RAPP. “We need to continue to adapt to market trends to survive at the national and international levels.” Batik training such as these is a proponent in economic progress, as well as a symbol of how corporations and communities can collaborate in preserving the traditions of a land. It also drives the APRIL2030 and APR2030 initiatives in supporting gender equality and inclusive growth through empowering the women of the company and the community.

This space will serve as a hub for Bracell Social, a private social investment programme working towards improving public education, championing female empowerment, and supporting productive entrepreneurship. In addition to these initiatives, the space is designed to be a meeting point, offering workshops, training sessions, and curated activities. “Our intention is for Casa Bracell Social to inspire every visitor and participant to envision new possibilities, contributing to the construction of a more promising future,” says Mouana Sioufi, Manager of Institutional Relations and Social Responsibility at Bracell.

Ensuring indigenous inclusion within power engineering, Woodfibre LNG’s Operator Training Programme combines technical expertise with training for indigenous students of Squamish Nation. RGE staff in Singapore celebrated RGE Founder’s Day through a partnership with Heartware Network to bring together nearly 500 beneficiaries, caregivers and volunteers for the ‘Tranquil Journey at the Gardens’ at Singapore’s famed Gardens by the Bay. The gathering brought together a range of Singapore’s social service organisations including Stroke Support Station, St. Andrew’s Mission Hospital (SAMH), Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDSG Ltd), Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore (CPAS), and Down Syndrome Association (Singapore).
