Last month, our Food & Nutrition Services team celebrated the completion of Renown Regional Medical Center’s Sierra Kitchen remodel which began last summer. This team serves an impressive 80,000 people a month, or more! We are proud to recognize this team's dedication to serving nutritious meals to our patients, employees and visitors.

Renown Children's Hospital was honored to welcome Dr. Nathan Rosenberg, a pediatric physical medicine and rehab physician from The Ohio State University. Dr. Rosenburg gave an excellent lecture on recognizing, diagnosing and supporting patients and families through early therapies for cerebral palsy. Following his lecture, our pediatric medicine leaders held a panel discussion and took attendees through a tour of Renown Rehabilitation Hospital, painting a picture of future pediatric rehabilitation capabilities right here in Reno-Tahoe. Congratulations are in order for our Structural Heart Program! This team of dedicated cardiology professionals just performed their 1,000th transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) — a minimally invasive procedure that treats aortic stenosis, a progressive disease that affects the heart's aortic valve. Renown was the first in the region to offer TAVR to patients, and since then, the Structural Heart Program has continually exceeded national TAVR quality averages. A year after his New Year’s Day accident, Jeremy Renner made a heartfelt visit to Renown Regional Medical Center to give his thanks to the exceptional ER and trauma care teams that treated his injuries after being run over by a snowplow at his home. The Hawkeye star delivered pizzas, posed for photos and met with the many Renown team members – and even patients from Renown Children's Hospital! – who were excited to meet him and see his incredible recovery progress.
