The Quail Ranch project is underway near Albuquerque, New Mexico — pairing 128 MW of solar with 400 MWh of battery storage across a high desert plateau optimized for long-term generation. In 2024, the U.S. added 49 GW of new clean power, with utility-scale wind and solar outpacing coal for the first time ever. Nearly $80 billion went into building energy infrastructure and manufacturing capacity, while storage hit its first double-digit gigawatt year.
