We are pleased to share more news about ensitrelvir fumaric acid (S-217622), an investigational antiviral being evaluated for the treatment of COVID-19. Shionogi & Co., Ltd. (our parent company) signed a license agreement with Medicines Patent Pool, a United Nations-backed public health organization, to expand access to ensitrelvir in low- and middle-income countries, pending regulatory approvals.
Shionogi & Co., Ltd. (our parent company in Japan) has released positive top-line data for ensitrelvir fumaric acid (S-217622) in the Phase 3 part of the Phase 2/3 clinical trial in Asia. Ensitrelvir is an investigational medicine being evaluated as an antiviral treatment for COVID-19.
