Downtown Grand Rapids was full of heart during our 2025 Helping Hands Day event! 💚 Over 850 volunteers—Associates, community members, nonprofits, and vendors—came together for our biggest Helping Hands Day yet. We packed 15,000 meal boxes valued at $1.7 million for families facing disaster across the U.S. Thank you, Convoy of Hope and every hand that gave time, resources, and love. This exemplifies our We Serve core behavior in action, and we are so proud. 👏
At this year’s Helping Hands Day in Grand Rapids, Mich., SpartanNash Associates packaged the equivalent of more than 500,000 meals, which were donated to nonprofit partner Convoy of Hope to be distributed during disaster relief efforts. After Hurricane Helene hit last month, Convoy of Hope acted immediately and deployed 1,500 boxes to those affected. As a food solutions company, SpartanNash often extends a "helping hand” to those in need – but seeing the impact of these supplies brings a whole new meaning to delivering the ingredients for a better life.
Reminiscing on our 2024 SpartanNash Food Solutions Expo when we brought together over 1,500 grocery suppliers, independent customers and Associates. And what a week it was! Across the show floor, vendors showcased more than 400 new products including several OwnBrands offerings like our new Finest Reserve pasta and pasta sauces sourced from Italy. A BIG shoutout to eight of our exceptional vendors honored with 2023-2034 Impact Awards for their performance and commitment to delivering value to our independent customers and their communities. After a water main broke in downtown Grand Rapids causing 20,000 residents to boil water before drinking, SpartanNash jumped in to help the City of Grand Rapids We’re honored to donate six truckloads, which totals 108 pallets, over 9,000 cases and over 217,000 bottles of water to families on Monday through today. This is a great example of Our Winning Recipe™ Core Behavior We Serve in action! Thank you to all our SpartanNash volunteers, transportation team and everyone who helped make this donation happen so quickly to meet the need in our community.
