This summer, St. Mary’s Home will be saying goodbye to Wayne Jones, our CEO of 7 years. The St. Mary’s community is incredibly grateful for the many years of hard work, guidance, support, and friendship that Wayne has shared with us and congratulate him on his well-deserved retirement. Upon announcing his retirement, Wayne said, “It is with very mixed emotions that I announce my retirement from St. Mary’s Home as the CEO effective September 1st of this year. When the previous CEO, Bill Giermak, asked me to join him as his Chief Financial Officer in 2005, I never imagined how wonderful the next 18 years of my life would be. The dedication of the employees who serve those who call St. Mary’s their home is unparalleled. They are the extended family for those who entrust their loved ones to our care. It has been my honor to call St. Mary’s my second home and I wish all of you nothing but the best.” The residents, families, and staff have many fond memories of Wayne in his time at St. Mary’s – everything from Wayne dressing as the Easter Bunny, to shout outs of “hey, Money Man” from

Everyone knows the kitchen is the heart of the home and this could not be truer than the kitchen at St. Mary’s. With oversight from our Registered Dietitian, Lynn Earle, the Dietary Department serves up hundreds of meals and snacks every day to keep residents’ bellies full! Patrick White has served as the Dietary Services Manager managing a team of 13 people for 7 years, implementing numerous changes, streamlining workflow, creating seasonal menus, and writing recipes conveying his culinary flair. Patrick is proud to share that this incredible team “creates recipes – adjusted for allergies (non-dairy, nuts), has a cooking style which includes sauces, soups and casseroles modified to allow for textures the residents require, and the baked goods are homemade. Some fun facts, the kitchen has its own photo album for group pictures – we even have pictures of some of the big projects over the years, including replacing the walk-in freezer door, switching storage rooms, and even summer grilling. We also include seasonal and holiday clipart to our meal-menu-labels for information and visual
