Michael Hando joined Sunstates Security in 2022 as a Regional Manager for the Newark, NJ, region. He brings nearly 20 years of combined private security and military experience to this growing region. Beginning his career in the military, Michael served in the United States Air Force for six years as a Crew Chief for the F-16 Fighting Falcon and was stationed at multiple stateside and international bases. After retiring from the Air Force, Michael utilized his leadership and problem-solving skills to transition into the private security sector. His experience spans various vertical markets, directing security programs for some of the most prominent names in the commercial, residential, fashion, event planning, and construction industries. Additionally, Michael’s experience includes entertainment and sports enterprises, having worked with every major sports league (NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA) and protection with IHeart Media, CBS and Disney.

Meet Zariah Williams! Zariah was welcomed to the Sunstates team in August 2022 as a Compliance Administrator for the corporate office. She brings many exceptional skills, including computer proficiency, organization and communication expertise. Zariah worked as a Records and Enrollment Services Specialist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill prior to Sunstates. Her duties included keeping the academic records of all students registered at the university, conducting the registration of all students, preparing and publishing the class schedules and implementing FERPA laws. In addition, Zariah administered the faculty regulations relating to the removal of academic deficiencies incurred and ensured compliance with probation and re-admission requirements. Her position before that was as a Legal Assistant at a large law firm. While in this role, Zariah created secure files and managed documents, scheduled and managed the attorney’s monthly calendar for court cases and consultations and assisted the attorneys in producing legal documents.

We had several key personnel in Tennessee recently celebrate their five-year anniversaries with Sunstates Security. At the beginning of December, we started at a new location, a premier class A high-rise in downtown Fort Worth, TX. Operations Manager Erick Pruitt, along with Site Supervisor Donny Gore, Assistant Site Supervisor Megan Little and Officer David Haley, helped to ensure a successful startup. The Fort Worth Downtown Security Directors Association had a meeting hosted by the site later in the month, which Senior Operations Manager Steve Williams, Erick, and Regional Director Joel Forbes attended.
