A big welcome to Derric Murff! Derric Murff joined Sunstates Security as an Operations Manager in the Indianapolis area in July 2021. His previous positions and experience make him an excellent fit for his new role. Derric is a former Police Officer with over eight years of service through the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD). While in the department, he maintained multiple responsibilities and positions such as Street Patrol Officer, Crisis Intervention Team Officer, new hire interview board member and Incident Commander on several large-scale incidents. Prior to Derric entering his law enforcement career, he worked numerous years in the contract security industry. There he gained knowledge in loss prevention, roving patrols, armed security and site security supervision. Derric graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Media Arts and Science and a minor in Computer Science. Meet Sharon Black, Operations Manager in the Orlando Region. Joining the Sunstates Security team in April 2021 as an Operations Manager, Sharon Black brings over five years of security, human resources, and office management experience. She initially began her security career working with a regional security provider as an Office Manager and Human Resources Administrator. In that role, she performed various hiring and scheduling functions and learned to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced and continuously changing working environment. After several years in this role, she was promoted to the Southeastern Regional Scheduling Manager, responsible for 10,000+ weekly service hours across FL, TN, NC, GA and LA. In her most recent role prior to joining Sunstates Security, Sharon served as a Branch Manager and Regional Support Specialist overseeing Tampa, FL, Nashville, and Memphis, TN markets. Sharon’s security experience, combined with her proven time management and customer service focus, provides her with an excellent skill set.
