Since starting the program in 2020, we’ve contributed more than $6.6 million to the 401(k) accounts of 1,600+ employees. The Travelers Championship hosted its 2nd Annual Charlie Sifford Golf Outing to honor the legacy of the first Black player to earn his PGA TOUR card. The event took place at the Wethersfield Country Club, where Charlie secured his first professional victory in 1967, when the tournament was known as the Greater Hartford Open. Funds raised through the outing went toward the Dr. Charles L. Sifford Scholarship, which helps cover college tuition for students who attend a historically Black college or university, or for minority students focusing their education on a golf management program.

We are proud to share that our Chairman and CEO, Alan Schnitzer, was honored as the “2022 Insurance Leader of the Year” by St. John's University, The Peter J. Tobin College of Business at the 27th annual Insurance Leader of the Year Award Dinner on Jan. 18. During his acceptance speech, Alan announced the creation of The Travelers Scholarship for Future Leaders with a pledged gift of $250,000. The scholarship fund will support students with financial needs who demonstrate strong leadership potential. The Insurance Leader of the Year award recognizes the work of outstanding individuals whose leadership in the worldwide insurance and financial services industry sets them apart from their peers.
