According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are only 10.7% black professionals in Vet Med. At VEG, while we have more work to do to improve our own representation, we’re committed to opening doors for more people in this industry. We’re constantly evaluating our hiring practices to mitigate unconscious biases. We work with organizations like @the_nabv and @blackdvmnetwork to recruit black talent and support organizations that are lifting this community up. 🩺 We launched our black resource group earlier this year to find better ways for our VEGgies to feel included. How does VEG help our Veterinary Assistants 🦸🦸🏽♂🦸 feel seen and celebrated all the time? We’re leveling up the historic Veterinary Assistant Day at VEG by leading the charge across the industry. From now on, at VEG this week will be known as Veterinary Assistant Week. 🎉 We lift up our VEGgies at every level because everyone is deserving of growth and support, so our VAs can take advantage of our unlimited Emergency CE Policy plus a $1,000 travel stipend towards attending in-person CE. 📖✈️ We have VEG-created programs like Cultivate, the Credential Support Scholarship Program, and VA compensation to make a career in ER sustainable.
