I receive zero benefits since I am working as a contractor. Even on holidays I simply don't get paid which is a large hit on my paycheck. All other employees are encouraged by GE to work from home once per day and as a contractor I am not allowed to. Even when personal issues came up with my family or if I have an appointment I just have to leave work and not get paid.

Pro: retirement contributions to 401k are nearing pension type
Con: salaries are low; a 2% annual increase is doing well

Good retirement program and insurance benefits. They do offer a strong benefits package but it still isn't worth it as far as the workload.

no complaints with the benefits at Alstom Power. Asked and received 3 weeks of vacation at employment start date. major medical emergency was covered at 100%. 401K was standard. 10% yearly bonus. relocation package excellent.

The best health insurance in the industry.. The total annual contribution is the lowest I have seen compared to likes of ABB and GE (by a big margin).. And the Copay concept is the easiest..
