Working in IT, they offered unlimited vacation, which yes, causes you to work longer hours and nights to keep up with the workload, but for me, it was a small price to pay to be able to take vacation whenever it was needed.

no approval for vacation up to two weeks, after that needs VP approval. no limit on how many days you take off day.

You take off when you need to. There is no real defined vacation policy. Your manager needs to approve your vacation so your vacation / work life balance depends on your manager.
