They intentionally hire people out of college knowing they can still be on family insurance, but if that’s not an option for you then you deal with their insurance… and it’s not good. Either it’s very expensive or non existent because of an insanely high deductible
I avoided going to the doctor solely in fear of insane bills

Benefits package for contractors is pretty barebones. Well below average compared to what full time employees get at my organization, slightly below average compared to other consulting firms. You will not get any paid days off, not even holidays like Christmas.

You're a contractor / vendor for whatever client you work for, so you're on your own. You need to go through independent sources / state to get or in some areas you'll be given health benefit options but they're pretty sub par compared to other options from the state / direct health care companies.
You take vacations when you can and no 401k options here for most employees.
